A member asked:

If someone has hsv2 and they take antiviral medications and dont have an outbreak, what is the risk of transmitting the disease to a partner? (no condom?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

HSV2: Antiviral medications do not cure HSV2 but reduce outbreaks, symptoms and shedding.of the virus. However you can still transmit the infection to your sexual partner even in the absence of an eruption with unprotected sex.
