I took 20mg of prednisone and my anxiety went through the roof. i'm on zoloft (sertraline) for anxiety. how long until it is out of my system. before pred, no prob?

A day or two: The prednisone is cleared over the course of a couple of days (half-life about 3 hours). The undo anxiety should abate as the level decreases. It is often difficult to predict which patients will suffer this side effect, but most do to at least some extent. Pre-existing anxiety is certainly a risk factor.
