Yes: Acute appendicitis usually starts with pain/discomfort around the belly button. So yes, both sides in front and just at waist. Typically within 12 to 24 hours the pain settles into the right lower abdomen and intensifies to the point you want/need to come in. At the er, the docs make the diagnosis by exam, labs, imaging. The treatment is surgical removal of the appendix.
