Hormone change: Tubal ligation interrupts 1/3 of the blood supply to the ovaries which can cause some hormone production issues leading to irregular menstrual bleeding. These issues may resolve but some women continue to have changes in their menstrual cycle after having their tubes "tied". If persistent, hormone balance and supplementation may be needed to control irregular periods.
