? long term: The misdirection of the eye can also lead to vision loss as the brain decides to quit dealing with double vision. Re-alignment can be accomplished by a trained eye surgeon adjusting the eye muscles. This may be a satisfactory but purely cosmetic fix, as long term vision loss may not improve.
