SoMany possibilities: & without considerably more information, unable to even narrow down to half-way reasonable differential diagnosis & possible plan of action to distinguish. Physicians only make guesses (educated) based on training, experience, individual perspectives, etc. & powerfully rely on much more information from clients as clues for detective work, sometimes very misleading & expensive. Please give more info, like when did it start, is it sharp or dull, worse with deep inspiration or meals, difficulty breathing, relieved by acetaminophen, getting worse or better over time, etc. Then you may need imaging (i.e. xray or chest ct). Could be anything from blood clot (PE) or pneumonia to rib fracture or pulled muscle. See clinician to sort it out. Hope that helps.
