May be normal: The IUD usually decreases the lining build up in the uterus which is why hormone containing IUD's reduce or eliminate blood flow. It may take several months to build back a "normal" lining to resume normal menstrual bleeding. If bleeding does not occur for six months, further evaluation is recommended.
