Not unusual: Upper respiratory infections in young children can often last 2 weeks, or sometimes, a new one will start just when the first infection is starting to resolve and it seems like an extended infection. Most URI's are viral and do not respond to antibiotics and need to run their course, but after 10-14 days, ear or sinus infection is a common complication. If your child seems quite ill, see doctor.
