Yes, but have you: had a doctor determine that it is Herpes Simplex 1 ? If not, do so & discuss taking Valtrex (valacyclovir) to lessen symptoms of intranasal herpes. The incidence of Herpes Simplex 1 Encephalitis in adults in the U.S. is 2/million.
