Depends on severity: At home you can use rest, ice, nsaids, to help with pain. Some clavicle fractures can be managed with a sling, while others may require surgery. It is best if you see an orthopedist, have x-rays, and discuss your options with the physician that has seen the location, and type of fracture we are talking about. Thanks for your question. Hope this helps a little.

Depends: Over recent years, we have become more aggressive with operative fixation of clavicle fractures as the rate of them not healing is higher than we had originally thought. There are certain patient and radiographic factors that lead us down dichotomous paths of operative vs. Non-operative fixation. A sling and pain medicine is the only conservative measure that can be offered in the meantime.
