A sign of infection: Bleeding is a sign of infection. You have inflammation in your gums that needs to be addressed. Bleeding in any other body part will alert you to this. Periodontal disease is a slow and silent disease. One of the earliest signs is bleeding when brushing. Please consult a dentist to get this treated as it has been shown to have a correlation to diabetes, heart disease and pre-term labor.

Bleeding: Probably not the tooth. Almost certainly the gum tissue around the tooth is infected. This is a big red flag...gum disease is an active infection that requires definitive treatment. Schedule appointment with a gum specialist, a Periodontist, as soon as possible.
