Send your mom: You should definitely send your Mom to the doctor. A physical exam is indicated in this situation. If your Mom is taking a calcium channel blocker for her hypertension, it may be a normal finding, however there are conditions which cause fluid to extravasate and pool in the extremities, such as Congestive Heart Failure. The only way to know is to visit her doctor.
