My husband twisted his back somehow yesterday and he has been in a lot of pain, not being able to stand straight. he took 1 naproxen this morning. but it didn't get better. what should we do? thank you

Likely a strain ...: Avoid activities that make it worse. It is best to rest, but not necessarily in bed...be in the most comfortable position. Get up and walk every hour or so. Try icing (bag of frozen peas) for 20 minutes 3-4 times/day, or try a heating pad. Take analgesic/anti-inflammatory at max dose: 600-800 mg ibuprofen 4X/day or naproxen 550 mg 2X/day.
