Tough to answer: At 8 weeks gestation there should be an embryo with a measurable crown-rump length. The fact that there is only mention of a fetal pole makes me wonder, if you are not quite 8 weeks along, but maybe 5. But then, then type of ultrasound machine and training of the sonographer also plays a role.
