Scar tissue: The tendon that flexes the great toe at the knuckle is in the back of the ankle joint and very close to the incision/bone cuts s that are made during the procedure. It is not uncommon to have scar tissue form around this tendon making it difficult to flex the great toe. This can resolve with time and rarely needs more treatment than physical therapy.
