2 weeks after flu shot, tender and swollen occipital lymph nodes on right side of head and behind ear - possibly be immune system reaction or virus?

Look elsewhere: This is very unlikely to be attributable to the flu shot. Since it is so localized have your scalp and ear examined.
Thinking outside the box, sometimes knots in the muscles can be mistaken for lymph nodes.
