Ok to take: Xanax (alprazolam) as prescribed. It is similar to Klonopin. Good to keep track of your prescription, ask pharmacy to contact doctor in advance, so you don't run out again. Good luck.

Klonopin (clonazepam) Dependence: I understand your distress about withdrawal symptoms. It seems that you did not ask to see a Psychiatrist in ER to discuss your stress, need for Klonopin. Klonopin and Xanax (alprazolam) are Benzodiazepines for Anxiety and Panic and can have side effects. You can Take Xanax (alprazolam), see your Psychiatrist soon to discuss stress in your life benefits , side effects of both medication;, Therapy, and Relaxation.

Probably OK: I assume that they took into account the dosage of your Klonopin and I assume that you will be resuming the Klonopin on Monday. While you can have withdrawal from Klonopin it is not as severe as withdrawal from the short acting benzodiazapines such as Xanax, (alprazolam) Ativan and even Valium.

It is OK: Xanax is to be taken only if you get any withdrawal symptom like tremor, palpitation of shortness of breath. It can be used for a few days only before your doctor can restart your meds or give you alternate treatment for your anxiety disorder.
