A member asked:

Fearing alopecia areata in 5 yr daughter due to thinning eyebrows. saw a dermatologist who felt the hair showed some growth. vitamin d is deficient. ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not vitamin: Usually, but not always, A. Areata is obvious. If that is the correct diagnosis it will correct itself in months, but is likely to recur. "Thinning eyebrows" is not enough to diagnose this.No vitamin belongs in this discussion.
