Fissure not cancer.: Neither anal fissures nor hemorrhoids turn into cancer. We screen for colonic cancers in people with anal fissures or hemorrhoids just to make sure they're not coexisting.

Not likely: Anal fissures are tears in the tissue around the anus. They can be caused by constipation, large bowel movements, or mechanical friction. They do no cause cancer, however I would recommend seeing a colorectal physician for an examination to make sure there are not other conditions occurring
