Depends: Drugs vary greatly in how long they (and their metabolites, which is what most drug tests are looking for) stick around, and tests themselves vary greatly in their sensitivity and specificity to different drugs for different amounts of time. Some drugs (amphetamines, cocaine, short-acting benzos, opioids) are detectable for only a few days while others (marijuana, methadone) can persist for weeks.
