A member asked:

What to do if i have post-herpatic neuralgia from shingles). will an employment urine drug screen be able to distinguish between the two?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Don't understand ?: There is nothing about having post-herpetic neuralgia that will cause a positive drug screen. If you are on medication for this, such as Neurontin or Lyrica, (pregabalin) they do not generally show up on common drug screens. If you are being prescribed opioid pain medication, they may certainly show up, but you need to show them your valid prescriptions. If you are a bus driver, still might not be ok to take
