Likely abscess: This sounds very much like an abscess which is a pocket of bacterial infection. These need to be drained by a doctor which is the only way to treat them effectively. Antibiotics will have little to no effect on an abscess except perhaps helping to buy time and prevent worsening until it can be drained. An abscess should be treated promptly at a primary care office, urgent care center or ER.
