Ankle fractures: The goal of the surgical treatment of your ankle fracture is to reconstruct the ankle joint back to normal. As long a the bone heals in the appropriate position, you should be able to return to all activities without restrictions. It typically takes 8-12 weeks for the bone to heal fully and a total of 4-6 months to get your ankle motion/strength and overall conditioning back.
