Omeprazole: like other PPI's (Proton pump inhibitors) take several days to work thus are NOT the best OTC medications for acute stomach pain. Its best to start with an antacid liquid (eg Maalox, Gelusil, Mylanta (the last of which may also help bloating) The main thing is IF IT CONTINUES check it out with your Primary Care Provider!
