Costochondritis: assuming that the patient is young and healthy 23 year old with no past medical history, this is likely muscular pain (costochondritis). Try to obtain atleast an X ray to r/o fracture Treatment is NSAIDs (ibuprofen, naproxen, etc). Can also try hot and cold patches.
