Hand infection: Spider bites are very rare. This sounds like a bacterial skin infection, maybe staph or strep. When such infections involve the hand, it can be quite serious and you may need an antibiotic right away. See a doctor today, even though it's the weekend. Phone your doctor's office and see if she or someone is covering. If not, visit an urgent care clinic or emergency department. Motrin won't help.
