A member asked:

Accidentally inhaled a lozenge. felt like it went into my lung, down the wrong pipe. no choking or coughing, but could feel it, discomfort. serious?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doubt it: Your lung tissue is well designed with protective receptors that reject foreign objects. If you inhaled the lozenge, you would immediately begin coughing spasms that would be difficult to control. It would come up,or seat in an airway producing continued breathing problems and likely some pain. If these are happening, go to the hospital, if not, your odd sensation will likely fade soon.
