Prognosis in CIDP is: variable; factors with some degree of predictive value include type of onset, symmetrical vs. asymmetrical symptoms, distribution patterns of demyelination, axonal loss & loss of upper motor neurons. Best take him to a CIDP Center of Excellence in London or Birmingham. Access information, support, UK & local resources on www.gbs-cidp.org, the GBH-CIDP Foundation International's website.
