No: Fluoride in toothpaste, used as directed, is efficacious and not harmful. Nothing has been studied as thoroughly or for as long as the effect of Fluoride on our health. It helps prevent cavities and causes no harm. Just follow the package directions.

No: Fluoride added to toothpaste is common and it has been well demonstrated to protect teeth. The dose of fluoride does differ in different preparations and a high dose preparation is available from dentists. Children can develop fluorosis (staining of the teeth) if they continually swallow higher doses of fluoride, thus the dose in children's paste is lower, however the staining is not harmful.
