A member asked:

Is there a difference between bmr and bmi?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

They are different: BMR is basal metabolic rate, the rate at which your body burns calories when you are at rest. It is a measure of body metabolism. Bmi is body mass index, and is a calculation based on height and weight which helps to indicated if you are normal or medically obese. It has nothing to do with your metabolic rate.
