Reduction of inflamm: By reducing inflammation pain hopefully will resolve. Then splint therapy to unload joint and protect cartilage and articular surfaces. If this does not restore comfort and function then surgery is the next step

Surgery last resort: Ask the question - why is the disc displaced anteriorly? It could be over-closure. There may not be enough space for it to rest where it should be. A bite appliance called an orthosis could separate the teeth, allow the jaw to rest more forward, and make room within the joint itself for the disc to be reduced. Until the pressure on the disc is relieved, it cannot heal. You may not need surgery
