Low possibility: There is cross-reactivity between allergens in banana, avocado and latex, however, the affected patient is generally first sensitized to latex prior to developing symptoms to select foods. That said, patients sensitized to multiple foods in this class develop latex allergy 10% of the time. An Allergist can perform testing to quantify risk.
