Show the answer!: Parents should not dissuade their children from exercise, unless it compromises study time, or important family activities. Exercising young will more likely keep you exercising as you age, maintain health and weight. I have encouraged my children to exercise, and my youngest twin daughters now (21y) exercise more than their dad. I'm proud of that fact. I suspect your parents don't exercise.
