No!: I don't why it is red but you shouldn't have a "foreign body" there while it is healing. You can see an ophthalmologist and wear "old-fashioned glasses" until better. They do make quite "sexy" frames you know. Maybe with all the admiring remarks you'll get you won't want to go back to contacts.

No: It's probably wise to avoid wearing contacts if the inner canthus of the eye looks inflamed. It may just be due to some minor irritation but if the area is tender or painful there could be a bacterial infection of the tear duct(dacryocystitis). If the area is tender, warm compresses for 15 minutes 4x daily followed by gentle massage may resolve the problem, if it doesn't or gets worse>>see Dr
