Could be: Could be bacterially infected gums. Could be viral infection of throat, could be both. Could be one of many other problems. Probably will not self-cure, you need professional help. Call your Dentist for an appointment. Referral to a Periodontist and/or your Physician may be in order.

2 separate issues: and should be treated separately. See your GP for sore throat and see your DDS for gingivitis or other dental problems.
