How long after antibiotics can urine culture be done? went in 48 hours after 2-10 day rounds of antibiotics, culture negative but still have symptoms.

Urine culture: Usually at least 72 hours. Sometimes if discomfort is at end urination neg culture , it may be a vaginitis, mycoplasma/ureoplasma or strep/BV I treat with Zithromax 250 2 tabs x 2 then1 tab and Flagyl 500 BID x 7 and clotrimazole -l(also check for yeast) . May also be interititial cystitis . f/u w/ doc

Ans: Your timing was good. May be all a hygiene or hydration issue. Make sure you have good hygiene and make sure you drink lots of water
