A member asked:

Thinking about getting on the birth control pill what's the difference between combination pills and progestin only pills? which is best for the body?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Effectiveness...: Progesterone-only pills are not as effective at pregnancy prevention as pills containing both estrogen and progesterone. For this reason, they are usually reserved for women who are breast-feeding and in other special circumstances. You will most likely want a combination pill unless you are breast-feeding. See your doctor! best wishes!
