My son tore his acl so his orthopedic doctor gave him a brace to prevent him move his knee. but for some reason he limps with it. why does he limp?

ACL tears: His knee is still unstable and with each step it moves in an abnormal and painful way. The body is trying to protect the cartilage in his knee by keeping him from full weight bearing on this knee. He should have a reconstruction done as soon as medically possible.
