PCOS: If you do indeed have PCOS, the initial management involves lifestyle modifications to effect weight loss. I don't know the optimal diet to institute to effect weight loss, but you might want to minimize sugars, complex carbohydrates, and saturated fats. The mainstay of pharmacologic therapy is oral contraceptives. Pregnancy should be excluded before starting this therapy.
