Mirena (levonorgestrel): Like all progesterone contraceptives abnormal bleeding is a side effect. This could be bleeding every day or no bleeding at all or anything in between. What you described could be entirely normal.

A 38-year-old member asked:

Should I be concerned if I have green vaginal discharge?

Dr. Pam Yoder

Yes: Women know their bodies and might be familiar with many types of vaginal discharge. However, an unusual one or a new one should be evaluated by a professional. If yellowish green, it could be trichomonas, which an obgyn provider should diagnose and treat. If the woman is pregnant and the discharge is darker green, it could be meconium-stained amniotic fluid, and that could become an OB emergency.

Yes: Foul smelling discharge needs to be evaluated. The most common cause is a nonsexually transmitted overgrowth of bacteria called bacterial vaginosis. Testing for other sexually transmitted disease may need to be done as well.
A member asked:

Why does my baby have white discharge coming from his nipples? What can I do?

Dr. Scott Katz

Usually normal: Discharge from the nipples is a normal response to the mother's hormones passing to the baby through the breast milk, and can occur in boys as well as girls. If the area around the nipple is red or tender, or if the baby is fussy, irritable or has a fever, they should be examined.

A member asked:

I am suspecting I might be pregnant but I am having no discharge and I am usually very heavy with discharge... Is pregnancy a possibility ?

Dr. Robert Kwok
Pediatrics 33 years experience
Always a possibility: Pregnancy is always a possibility in a woman in her fertile years. Simple urine pregnancy tests are available at any drugstore. A woman can also go to a primary care doctor or an ob-gyn doctor for testing. If the test is positive, the woman needs to set up routine appointments with the doctor that will be providing her prenatal care. If the test is negative, the doctor can look for other problems.
