Sounds like you may: have a viral infection but the headache and neck pain is concerning. How did your PCP rule out meningitis? The only real way is lumbar puncture to remove cerebrospinal fluid for examination. If you had high fever to go along with the stiff sore neck, then you would need to go to the ED to rule out meningitis. Thanks for trusting in HealthTap.
