Yes and no...: Worry is simply a negative wish and should be avoided. It simply depresses the immune system and allows negative things to happen. I would recommend having your Total and Free PSA measured given this change. A change of >1 ng/mL in a 12 month time period crosses the threshold for mandatory evaluation with most providers who closely follow such things. Easily done and may amount to nothing.

Don't worry yet.: We shouldn't worry about isolated elevations in the PSA, but we should be concerned about a trend, such as if your value continued to climb. 1.5, then 2.5, then 3.5, etc. If it's trending upwards, then it should be investigated for cause. If the repeat goes back down to your usual value, then it's unlikely there's anything of concern going on.
