Referral to Surgeon: A sharp pain at the point of the elbow may be caused by damage to the soft tissues over the olecranon (bone) located at this point. This is often leaned when sitting which can lead to swelling . This could also be 'tennis elbow' due to repetitive work which involves constant movement of your elbow. I suggest seeing an Orthopaedic surgeon for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Be seen: I would be seen, where an exam and appropriate studies will likely determine the cause of your elbow pain. The majority of causes can do well with non surgical management.
