Eye problem: Are there any other signs of inflammation over the medial canthus or adnexa/lacrimal sac? Redness, tenderness, pain? Possibly dacryocystitis, although I have never seen this in an adult. Possible early preseptal cellulitis. If there is inflammation, you might initially try the conservative measure of application of a warm compress. Impaired vision or pain in the globe indicates possible emergency.
