Eczema/skin moisture: Correct in eczema--also known as atopic dermatitis--the skin barrier function is impaired, resulting in increased transepidermal water loss as well as increased risk of exogenous allergen exposure. Hence the associated rash, pruritus, and frequently xerotic skin observed in this condition, along with potential other co-morbidities (asthma, allergic rhinitis, and nasal polyps in some patients).
