Absolutely but it: depends on the type of dry eyes. The usual type of tired eyes, anything works on including saline and artificial tears. The autoimmune disease type (SICCA) responds to steroids. can be just eyedrop steroids.

Red eyes/dry: Any vision changes? pain? For dry eyes can try topical lubircant's like Systane -over the counter. Buy individual vials. Sometimes for severe cases Restasis is prescribed. If you have red eyes also need to check for an inflammatory or autoimmune process like epislceritis, iriitis or anterior uveitis or glaucoma which need further treatment f/u w/ optometrist/ ophthamologist w/in 24 hrs
