Diet, hygiene, care: Decay is a biofilm driven disease. To prevent decay one should avoid added sugar and acidity in the diet. Avoid snacking. Meticulous oral hygiene is a necessary to reduce biofilm. Brush 2-3 times a day focusing along the gumline and floss daily. Make sure your toothpaste has fluoride and use a fluoride containing mouthwash daily if you are concerned about decay. Visit the dentist twice a year.
