Colonic strictures: Colonic strictures are rather rare, and are often due to inflammatory bowel disease or colon cancer. If a stricture is found, it needs to be investigated by a gastroenterologist. Most constipation is not caused by strictures of any sort. Your G.I. doc can help you sort through that too. Good luck.

Bloating and pain: Large intestine stricture will lead to excess gas and stool before the partial blockage, with associated pain and bloating. If it progresses, vomiting, fever and need for hospital care and possible surgery will occur.
