A member asked:

Will smoking marijuana once or twice a month make my fractured scaphoid take longer to heal? i eat healthy, i dont smoke tobacco, im an athlete so fit

May be not: Weed is not likely to delay bone healing but over time it will progressively mess up your head. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex.

MARIJUANA: Best to discuss drug use with your Orthopedic Surgeon. If uncomfortable with your Dr. consult another for a second opinion. Fears and anxiety could be heightened due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Stay safe & hopeful to elevate your immune system.
