Foot swelling : Persistent foot swelling 20 years post leg fracture may or may not be related . If one suffered a severe open fracture with disruption of the soft tissue then it may be related . If more commonly u had a garden variety leg fx , then probably not , Try some below knee support stockings which are available in most sporting goods stores. If no response from that , ask to be evaluated

Various causes...: Some causes of swelling of the ankles can include systemic problems such as hypertension, and problems with the kidneys and localized issues such as arthritis, infection, lymphatic obstruction, blood clots, varicose veins, trauma (fracture, sprain, tendonitis) and side effects to medication. Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.
